Mechanism of action

Antate ® contains the active ingredient magaldrate. The mechanism of action of magaldrate is based on the instantaneous regulation of the acidity of gastric juice and the neutralization of hydrochloric acid. Magaldrate also binds pepsin and bile acids (components of digestive juices that can have an aggressive effect on the tissues of the digestive system in a number of diseases), as a result of which the irritating effect of gastric juice decreases, pain syndrome decreases and the processes of restoration of damaged tissue are activated1.

Antacid with additional therapeutic effects

Antacid – neutralizes hydrochloric acid

Adsorbing – binds bile acids that damage the mucous membrane of the stomach and esophagus

Cytoprotective – increases the resistance of the gastric mucosa to the action of damaging factors

Enveloping – creates a protective film on the gastric mucosa
